The GE Superadio 3 Renamed: RCA RP7887 Super Radio

Though RCA (Thomson) has been the distributor of the famous GE Superadio 3 for a while, it retained the GE designation. It appears that it has been re-badged as an RCA and that the older model is either not available or is in limited supply; there are a few Superadio 3s for sale on eBay.

One retailer states on the product page for the Superadio 3 specifically that it is the same radio:

Special Note: This model is also supplied to us as the RCA RP7887 Superadio III. The radio is the same.

The reception on these radios is among the best for any radio under $500. It is as good as you’ll get for on AM without spending way more. It is very solid on FM as well. For the money, it is as good as it gets for AM reception and the large speaker makes the sound very enjoyable to listen to whether it talk radio or a ballgame. Many will argue that they require this feature or that feature but when it is all said and done you’ll get the consistent reception performance you desire out of a radio that is under $50.
